The course has been designed to introduce components of of an embedded system and how they are selected and designed.

To learn about the architecture of embedded systems and to be able to design embedded systems.

Course Goals:

1.  To understand the need for an embedded system

2.  To learn about processors and selection criteria

3.  To be able to understand different types of memories and be able to design memory according to given map.

4.  To learn peripheral units of an embedded systems like ports, ADC/DACs, Timers

5.  To learn about real time operating systems (RTOS)

2. To be able to design an embedded system for a specific application
